I would venture a theory that another major frustration Americans have is the level of service and/or results they see from the Federal government. Both are not great. I know of not too many people who like paying taxes. So that complaint will never die. But paying, then seeing it spent on the wrong things AND where it is spent in the right things it is done poorly, no wonder Americans are pissed. Cutting waste is necessary. But so is cutting the lack of accountability for results. And I’m a federal employee. We can all do and be better. Better accountability. Better results. Lower costs.

I think there’s still a huge disconnect about the fact of taxes paying for everything in the government and that taxes come from us via paychecks, purchases, receiving certain gifts, etc! Because we can’t really do anything, it’s already been taken out by the time we get paid so we don’t really see the “loss.” If the message was said really clearly to people who keep voting for more government (RINOS, Neocons, and Dems) that “here’s your paycheck, now that bit here where we took that tax? We’re going to spend it on another nation and on transgender monkeys. Thank you!” Same with social security. I can’t seem to get it through peoples’ head I speak with about the ponzi scheme that it is—no, how about you save your money by yourself and keep it all? The government isn’t saving it for you. It’s already gone! They don’t give it “back” all the way, either. “Oh but grandma is living off of social security checks. People like her wouldn’t be able to survive!” Yes they would. Roads get fixed without government help, she has several successful kids willing to chip in, and a church, etc etc.
The horrible thing with government jobs, too, is that they are essentially forcing your neighbor to involuntarily pay your salary. Most government jobs are NOT a net gain for society. Is x government job really a public service deserving of your neighbors’ wallet?
I can choose to not buy an iwatch and not give Apple money, I cannot opt out of paying for giving cocaine to lizards or whatever else mad scientists get government funding for these days.

I think there’s still a huge disconnect about the fact of taxes paying for everything in the government and that taxes come from us via paychecks, purchases, receiving certain gifts, etc! Because we can’t really do anything, it’s already been taken out by the time we get paid so we don’t really see the “loss.” If the message was said really clearly to people who keep voting for more government (RINOS, Neocons, and Dems) that “here’s your paycheck, now that bit here where we took that tax? We’re going to spend it on another nation and on transgender monkeys. Thank you!” Same with social security. I can’t seem to get it through peoples’ head I speak with about the ponzi scheme that it is—no, how about you save your money by yourself and keep it all? The government isn’t saving it for you. It’s already gone! They don’t give it “back” all the way, either. “Oh but grandma is living off of social security checks. People like her wouldn’t be able to survive!” Yes they would. Roads get fixed without government help, she has several successful kids willing to chip in, and a church, etc etc.
The horrible thing with government jobs, too, is that they are essentially forcing your neighbor to involuntarily pay your salary. Most government jobs are NOT a net gain for society. Is x government job really a public service deserving of your neighbors’ wallet?
I can choose to not buy an iwatch and not give Apple money, I cannot opt out of paying for giving cocaine to lizards or whatever else mad scientists get government funding for these days.
