My previous boss was FEMA employee/contractor, too. He told me that they get unlimited use credit cards whenever they go to a disaster area and stay there.
I have heard from ordinary citizens who are going in to give aid to the victims of Helene that these people who have lost their houses, cars, everything they can't even get them into local hotels because FEMA has all the rooms at the hotels booked. Meanwhile, they are doing nothing to help the victims and doing everything they can to disrupt, threaten with arrest, slash tires, confiscate resources of the citizens who are actually helping the people who need it. I heard from good citizen volunteers who are going in to ACTUALLY help the people that the airspace was completely shut down because Biden and Harris were going to do a flyover. Not sure if they took separate planes/helicopters or were together, but not even drones were allowed to fly, and drones are how they are finding survivors in some situations. No one allowed to fly in with supplies for the people in need. They never set their expensive city shoes on the toxic, sewage laden sludge (ground), but they just disrupted aid to the survivors so they come and take a look at the damage they both know the government with manipulating that hurricane. Then I heard Harris was later doing her photo ops making it sound like everything was fine, and they were giving out so much aid to people... like $750 per HOUSEHOLD is going to replace everything that was lost. I was 77 when I relinquished my Precinct Chair due to long covid, and am now 80. As Precinct Judge one is required to keep all their tally documentation for approximately 3 years, and I do have all of mine. However, this would not be proof for the things that happened at the poll's during that time. ALso, I worked as a poll watcher and vividly remember what happened at the Precinct I was sent to watch - it was Democratic - and the young black woman running that poll had absolutely no training. On several occasions I called her down for trying to assist the voter in their voting choices. I assisted her - verbal of course - as she attempted to tally the polls and count the ballots. Absolutely, no one is allowed to touch the ballots that have been voted and she asked me to help her count them - I immediately instructed her that I could not do that, no one was to touch or count the ballots except the Judge and she needed a poll worker to watch as she counted the ballots of the voters. After the Judge counts the ballots, she/he places them in a sealed box and transports them personally to the designated drop off where she/he signs off for everything. THe Election judge is held accountable for everything -- this is the way it is in my county. I am not singling out any ethnic group, because there are a lot of incomentent white people running election polls.

I'm wondering about the people who are doing the bookkeeping at the center of our United States? A budget is supposed to cover bills we incur plus try to have savings to cover disasters such as is happening now. Why is one site saying that FEMA has $8 billion in unused money and another saying they have none. We need to be able to see just what our national bookkeeping looks like. Seems to me what has happened is, like a lot of individuals, our government spends and spends, not checking the checkbook to see what the new balance is of available money, and then just continues to spend. Like Biden, writing one check after another in amounts of $8 billions and/or more and never checking to see if we had the money to cover it. Is this how you spend your money or do you try not to spend too much on things you don't need so you can be safe? We, the people, should be able to see spreadsheets of projected income and expenditures and then actual spreadsheets. I know that would be difficult because I guess every single Department (such as Department of the Interior, Department of State, Department of Immigration) gets their own budget and there are various lines for each budget. What we don't know is how much is our government spending on other nations as compared with it's own citizens. I read that we are still sending money to Afghanistan, of all places, that hates us! Why? Where else is our money going? Why hasn't enough been put aside for emergencies here in the US? Please help me understand why this calamity is being handled so slowly. Our people needed help IMMEDIATELY! I understand the dangers these people underwent and they knew it was dangerous but they were willing to take that risk. So, why was a deployment stopped halfway through and which left a man, whose wife had been safely helicoptered out and who wanted r to return for him but was told he would be arrested if he didi so, left alone overnight until who knows when to be rescued. The pilot did say that when he thought about this, that he should have risked being arrested, gotten the man to safe ground with his wife and that his conscience wouldn't bother him about the situation. The man was eventually rescued but with no thanks to a NC deputy for his interference. He said it was for the safety of the helicopter and I bet many of you will agree with me, it was the fact that someone else was able to do his job and he didn't like it!
I know this is a long post but I'm so frustrated at what this administration has done and how it's been involved in everything that has gone wrong the past four years. Sure, blame Donald for it. We, the people, should be able to see spreadsheets of projected income and expenditures and then actual spreadsheets. I know that would be difficult because I guess every single Department (such as Department of the Interior, Department of State, Department of Immigration) gets their own budget and there are various lines for each budget. What we don't know is how much is our government spending on other nations as compared with it's own citizens. I read that we are still sending money to Afghanistan, of all places, that hates us! Why? Where else is our money going? Why hasn't enough been put aside for emergencies here in the US? Please help me understand why this calamity is being handled so slowly. Our people needed help IMMEDIATELY! And the help they got as quickly as possible was from individuals who lived close to that area, others concerned about the scope of the damage, some who only had a truck they could load up and deliver as close as possible and others who had small helicopters and ventured out with supplies and aid. I understand the dangers these people underwent and they knew it was dangerous but they were willing to take that risk. So, why was a deployment stopped halfway through and which left a man, whose wife had been safely helicoptered out and who wanted r to return for him but was told he would be arrested if he didi so, left alone overnight until who knows when to be rescued. The pilot did say that when he thought about this, that he should have risked being arrested, gotten the man to safe ground with his wife and that his conscience wouldn't bother him about the situation. The man was eventually rescued but with no thanks to a NC deputy for his interference. He said it was for the safety of the helicopter and I bet many of you will agree with me, it was the fact that someone else was able to do his job and he didn't like it!
I know this is a long post but I'm so frustrated at what this administration has done and how it's been involved in everything that has gone wrong the past four years. Sure, blame Donald for it. But I wonder if the people in the democratic party really know the extent of the harm they are causing all Americans, from birth on up! And still we get lies, lies and more lies from them!

Why is it being handled so slowly when our people need help now?
This is FEMAs M.O., they don't help, they don't finish projects, threaten, sometimes at gunpoint, the citizens are who are actually giving aid to the people who need it. They disrupt the efforts of ordinary people who are helping, they tell people to not help their neighbors, they steal resources that have been donated to the people who are actually getting it to those in need. On and on. FEMA has been doing this all along. It's just that we are hearing about it now because everyone has a video camera in their pocket that can connect to social media and upload the truth.
No mention about the money for illegals. Is that because Adam is not around anymore? He would have mentioned that.
