Thank you, Richard Hayes Phillips. I could not have said it better. There are many Jews and many Jewish Rabbis who do NOT support Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza. The ethnic cleansing in Gaza is immoral and assuredly illegal under International Law. Many of the students who are rallying against this genocide are Jewish which the US media ignores. 30,000 civilians, or more , have been killed by American supplied bombs and American supplied munitions. AIPAC, J Street, and several other Pro-Zionist political action committees have essentially bought our members of Congress. The congressional candidates who accept money from these PACs have very high odds of being elected. And these same candidates overwhelmingly tend to lose when the AIPAC et al PAC money goes to their opponents.

Israeli self-defense against the Hamas attack is certainly not illegal under international law. Do a little research. You are utterly misinformed. Similarly, your claim of Jewish Rabbis who do not support Israel's self-defense is also nonsense. Rabbis's but what definition? And there were Jews who supported Hitler and were made Honorary Aryans.

If the Israelis are committing genocide of palestinians, how do you explain the massive growth of this arab groups population since 1948? Why haven't the Israelis gassed or shot all of Israels arab or muslim citizens? Why didn't Israel drop a 2000 lb bomb on muslims praying at al aqsa mosque during ramadan? You must not read much news because the presence of self-hating jews at campus protests is often noted. Why do you claim Israelis are evil when you and the palestinian arabs rally around Oct. 7th as a picnic in the park, and calls to kill all jews in Israel ... from the river to the sea. You are totally ignorant of the history of this conflict and incapable of applying simple logic to plain facts.

I do wish to make a few observations:

* “Palestine,” as a nation, does not exist.

This from Wikipedia: "As of May 2024, the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 143 of the 193 member states of the United Nations. It has been a non-member observer state of the United Nations General Assembly since November 2012." To clarify the terminology: a nation refers to the people, a state refers to the territory, a nation-state refers to a self-governing sovereign people with their own territory. None of this excuses the acceptance of funds from the "State of Palestine" without knowing who the donors really are.

* Neither the U.S. State Department nor the United Nations recognize Palestine as a country.

Click on the link and this is what turns up: "UNITED NATIONS, April 18 (Reuters) - The United States on Thursday effectively stopped the United Nations from recognizing a Palestinian state by casting a veto in the Security Council to deny Palestinians full membership of the world body." The link within the link tells us that 9 of 15 nations in the Security Council, with no vetoes by the five permanent members, and a two-thirds vote in the General Assembly, are the requirements for recognition as a member state. Only the United States stands in the way.

* The “State of Palestine” is a political fiction that provides cover for numerous terror organizations funded by Iran and others.

If the "State of Palestine" is a political fiction, it is because of resistance by the United States and its number one ally in the Middle East, i.e., the State of Israel. That said, it is obvious that Hamas is a terrorist organization (they did kill 1200 Israeli citizens on October 7 in their greatest loss of life on any day since the Holocaust, and more than 200 were taken hostage), and it is obvious that Hamas is backed by Iran (the launching pad for 300 missiles fired at Israel on April 14).

* codified into the law of the Palestinian Authority (PA) is the gruesome practice of “pay for slay” – paying pensions to the families of dead terrorists who killed Jews.

There is a new development: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/29/us-says-palestinians-are-close-to-changing-pay-for-slay-program-00149734

* An anti-Israel professor named Beshara Doumani was tapped as the inaugural Mahmoud Darwish Professor of Palestinian Studies.

In principle, I don't have a problem with the history of Palestine being included within Middle East studies. But that doesn't mean that professors from Palestine need to be hired for this purpose. It would be helpful to know exactly what Beshara Doumani is saying to the students at Brown University, one of only three colleges I know of that negotiated with the protestors.

* Some $7.3 million went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), located in the city of Indiana, Pennsylvania, as part of a restricted contract. Most of these contracts funded “payment of tuition and fees for students from Palestine. Funds are also utilized to pay for educational related expenses incurred by the university for these students through their enrollment in this program.”

I have no problem with Palestinian students receiving scholarships to study abroad. I had three students from Saudi Arabia in my class on the History of the Spanish Southwest, all of them with scholarships funded by their home country, and all of them were thoughtful young men. All of them were surprised to have a professor who wanted them to think for themselves. One of my essay questions ended with this: "Were the Native Americans better off under the Spanish conquistadores or the American cavalry?" One of them answered with words to this effect: "It is never wrong to spread one's religion by word of mouth. But it is always wrong to do it at the point of a sword."

* During the Trump Administration, then-U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy Devos forced disclosure of foreign gifts and grants. Secretary Devos trained a white-hot spotlight on the Confucius Institutes, funded by Communist China, as alleged outposts for Chinese espionage.

I am aware of this. The issue was theft of intellectual property. In my opinion, this is one of the best things that was done by the Trump administration.

OK, institutions enjoying tax free status under US Tax Code can not accept governmental grants from governments that the US does not recognize. And Hamas,, the designated government of Gaza, is considered a terrorist entity by the US government.

Hence the best you could argue would be something similar to Iran, which we recognize as a state but which it is illegal to accept donations from.

We (and you, Adam) are on the wrong side of history on this issue. Israel is not our greatest ally, and in fact might be our worst enemy in the end. Trump pardoning the Israeli spy should concern every American. The unprovoked attack on the USS Liberty, as well as Israel's involvement in 911, should also be concerning. Zionists have taken over nearly every aspect of information exchange, so many American's have yet to see what that disgusting nation has done to Palestine and the USA over the past 75 years.

Did we ever consider that if those in the media stopped calling the population of Gaza and the West Bank Palestinians and the area that they live in Palestine the wingnuts who think they are being put upon by Israel would have to find another group to blame for their strife? The State of Israel, unlike other counties who go to war to increase their regional power like Russia or Iran, has been fighting for its' life for centuries. They did not start this current conflict, Hamas did on Oct. 7 2023 and anyone who bothered to research this regional conflict would realize that this conflict has nothing to do with the UN or the recognition of Israel by the free world in 1948, but by Nazi Germany which courted the Arab sheiks and convinced them that Jews where the scourge of the world and had to be annihilated. If Hamas, which was virtually unanimously selected by the "Gazan" population to "Rule them and allowed Hamas to allocate their funding from charitable organizations and relief groups to feed and house them to construct a military infrastructure under their homes, with the sole purpose of protecting and building their military machine. Think about this, if Hamas, Hezbollah, and the other Iranian proxies were such wonderful humanitarian organizations, why are the entrances to their tunnels, which house armaments and murderers, located under residential properties, hospital and schools. Why do they shield themselves behind and within the civilian population, and why do they go out of their way to destroy human life. Does Israel and it's military set off suicide bombs in Gazan schools, restaurants or hospitals? Do they go out of their way to Rape, maim, or murder Gazan civilians in their homes? Do they go into the elementary schools and teach young children that hating Jews and killing them is the right thing to do? These actions are right out of Hitler's playbook. As a matter of fact, There are Arab Israeli's who are not treated any differently than the Jewish citizens. These Arabs serve in the military, government and medicine and don't have "terror Tunnels built under their homes. The idiots who are currently destroying higher education and are allowing the far left to indoctrinate them did their own research they would find that what they have been protesting for is the resurrection of Nazi Germany. Grow up people!!!

March 1949, a CIA document observed,

“The Near East is faced with the almost certain prospect of a profound and growing disturbance by Israel which may last for decades. Instead of restoring the boundaries of the province of Judea as they were in 70 AD, the Israeli leaders now state freely, though usually unofficially, their demand for an ever-expanding empire. Their present possessions are regarded by them only as a beachhead into the Arab and Muslim world, a large part of which they intend to exploit.

The ancient Israelites/Hebrews no longer exist! You have been conned into thinking that Jews from Poland, Russia, Germany, etc. are the Israelites of the Bible. For the love of Christ quit quoting a verse from Genesis. The Apostle Paul, who wrote wrote the bulk of the New Testament, declared that Jews killed both the prophets and Jesus Christ, do not please God, and that they are the enemies of all mankind. I Thessalonians 2:15. If you side with the Jews you are lost. How has giving trillions of tax dollars for Israel's wars, giving thousands of American lives to fight those wars blessed the United States? I believe that so-called Christian Zionists are the most evil, dangerous people in the United States today. Absolutely vile. You can keep your "blessings"!

More than half of the present Israeli Jewish population is Mizrachi, historically present in the Middle East without interruption, or Sephardi, who arrived in Spain from the Middle East 2000 to 3000 years ago. So your claims about Ashkenazi Jews are largely irrelevant. But as far as Ashkenazi Jews, there is a vast body of historical data tracing the roots of Ashkenazi Jews back to Biblical times. Ashkenazi Jewish DNA, for example, is distinctly different from northern European DNA and, among non-Jews matches most closely to the Kurds - whose territory covers the Biblical point of origin of Abraham.
