Now combine these findings with those of the DOGE team.

Coordinated and calculated funneling of taxpayer dollars to fund DNC propaganda, solidify that power through the placement of allies and relatives at high levels in universities, think tanks, NGOs, consulting firms and government agencies, and media organizations.

It's become near impossible for even well organized private citizens to combat that agenda at any level.

How do we reign it in?

"If you did not do any of the experiments, nor were involved in the writing of the paper, why were you an author? Can you clarify if this is also the case for any of your other 3499 papers, please?"

She worked 15 years in the lab of David Relman in the School of Medicine at Stanford, on the microbiomes of humans and marine mammals. In May 2014, she founded Microbiome Digest, an almost daily compilation of scientific papers in the rapidly growing microbiome field.

From 2016-2018, she worked at uBiome as a Science Editor, and later as the Scientific and Editorial Director. In 2018, she joined Astarte Medical as their Director of Science.

In March 2019, she became a Science Integrity consultant.

She can often be found discussing science papers on Twitter at @MicrobiomDigest, on Mastodon, writing for her blog ScienceIntegrityDigest or searching the biomedical literature for inappropriately duplicated or manipulated photographic images and plagiarized text.

Her work has resulted in 1069 Retractions, 149 Expressions of Concern, and 1008 Corrections (as of November 2023).

Flood of Fake Science Forces Multiple Journal Closures

Wiley to shutter 19 more journals, some tainted by fraud

Fake studies have flooded the publishers of top scientific journals, leading to thousands of retractions and millions of dollars in lost revenue. The biggest hit has come to Wiley, a 217-year-old publisher based in Hoboken, N.J., which Tuesday will announce that it is closing 19 journals, some of which were infected by large-scale research fraud.

It sounds like fraud to me. It's time to defund them, take away their credentials, since it's obvious they are making huge amounts of money they have no right to. This is outrageous.

Big E's avatar

Defund them, yes! And remove all tax breaks. No publicly subsidized student loans to inflate costs. And encourage kids to earn real credentials at vocational schools that teach entrepreneurship.

Keep up the terrific disclosures

educators emphasized soft skills like “critical thinking” and “problem solving.”

Really?

Every story you hear about colleges is students being bullied into group think which does nothing for critical thinking or problem solving. So, they are making money for doing absolutely nothing.

AJF's avatar

Kim, some high school grads are entering colleges & universities needing remedial math & LA classes. I believe at this point many colleges and universities have remedial classes. Also many don't require SATs for admission. I think it's just about getting as many kids into higher education so they graduate with tremendous debt. And yea, I highly doubt critical thinking or problem solving is going on!

Kim Hamlin's avatar

Exactly! If I had it to do over again, I would push my children and anybody else toward vocational ambitions. I grew up thinking that college was the end all, be all. I was mislead. Everything I've done in life could have been done without a degree.

AJF's avatar

Kim, me too. And both my daughter's regret choosing college since they're still paying many years later. But if you got good grades this is what you were encouraged to do. The "trades" were for those academically challenged. What a crock of you know what!

Kim Hamlin's avatar

Exactly! We used to joke about trade school, and I'm sure they getting the last laugh as we pay for electricians, mechanics, carpenters, etc! Good for them! I'm the dummy!

TrumpFan's avatar

Amen. My big regret is encouraging my two holier than thou kids to get a college degree. I see no yield at all.
