We know the federal government is in free fall. We know that most agencies worked so hard to bring in massively more expensive contractors to destroy their public interfaces that the American people actively hate the federal government now.
You all have reaped what you have sown. When Trump was torturing each agency with his massive data collection for his billionaire's digital control grid, and agency employees were getting sacked everywhere - WE COULD HAVE CARED LESS.

This non-response I am experiencing from the CBO, would never have happened when I worked on K Street back in the 1990's. I always got a response when I contacted a federal agency or department. People in government were respectful and responsive.
Now? Taxpayers with questions are treated as if they do not exist... and that is why nobody outside the beltway gave a rats ass when Trump started firing and laying off federal workers. Your career demographic is reaping what it has sown.

On a side note, American taxpayers no longer care what happens to federal employees. Trumps persecution has left us cold. The reason is because federal employees allowed themselves to be outsourced to private companies without any kind of fight - which added a layer of unaccountable bureaucracy and diverted 45 cents on the tax dollar away from program outcomes (a 2025 study discovered exactly how expensive outsourcing really is)... and most federal agencies are now 100% unresponsive to taxpayer's questions.
All of this sends a clear message that federal agency employees do not care what happens to taxpayers in general. This situation is so bad in North Caroliina, that State agency execs call the NC taxpayers "the invisibles." How insulting.
I have copious records of federal agencies not responding to my super simple questions. I am going to publish them, and do podcasts about how hard the federal agencies work to avoid treating me with informational respect.
Did you know that 95 million Americans did not file taxes in 2024? Think about the statement that makes.
Time to shut down CBO when their predictions are always wrong and not in small numbers. Terminate all employees since they obviously cannot do real math and are bias towards Dem proposals. Instead have Treasury run the numbers with AI and report.
With AI, all the dollars should be able to be tracked easily and fraud found and prosecuted, and the money returned to pay down the deficit. Enough already -- especially "government" workers with lifelong pensions. Ridiculous. I think government workers really do think money grows on trees. Thieves.
Sunset all government agencies, zero funding until they show staffing and what they contribute on cost to results. In writing for review by a citizen board .
