I’m a mom of three ASD children with moderate to severe autism. I’ve seen these companies in action and it’s painful. They hire high school graduates for 20$/hr to do work they are in no way qualified to do and most parents will have more knowledge in ABA than the “Behavior Therapist” and teach these kids how to treat their kids. Meanwhile the ABA company is charging insurance 65-85$/hr and pocketing the rest. Mind you, they charge for the actual therapist who is certified similarly.
Lastly I’d really like someone to look into the behavioral health conglomerates who are supposed to be connecting clients with providers. For example, Catalight Care in the Bay Area is likely also engaged in huge amounts of fraud.
Great job as always. If those states won't pay the money back they should be excluded from any future funds. Why is that so hard to enforce. These states are accomplices to the fraud and I have no doubt there is more than one state and federal government actors getting their cut too.

If only the government worked as hard as you do. And now Trump wants a $1.5 TRILLION pentagon budget, after promising to CUT spending. There was a movement once that never caught on, but I thought it was a great idea. It was called KICK THEM ALL OUT. Vote out every single member of the house and senate, even the good ones, just to make sure you got them all. Start all over. Sure it will become corrupt again, but it will take a while. We've got to try something.
Maybe not paying every high ranking official at the pentagon until they can account for 95% of the money they receive. Most people wouldn't hire a plumber or a house sitter that couldn't produce a proper bill for their services. Now they are so used to it, they don't even bother keeping track or trying to justify the money. Half of our national debt has been lost in that black hole. Back in 2001 they admitted to not knowing where $7 Trillion dollars went. The day before 9/11 coincidentally.
The diagnosis of autism does not require a biological test with measurable results. The diagnosis is very soft and highly dependent on how much one stretches the criteria. It is highly subjective. Many parents want their kids diagnosed with autism as a means of getting free tutoring, more time to take exams, etc. etc. This has gone on for decades....along with the fraud. But I am glad to see that it has finally gotten some attention.
But even now it is nearly impossible to get any congressman, senator or anyone with clout to pay attention when citizens try to report these things. As a test, try to report something to JD Vance or to DHT or to the AG of your state or any legislators local or statewise. See how far you get.
If we stop even half the fraud, we could pay off our national debt. That’s how much fraud is going on. Might as well look at every state. Even the states already told to pay back millions after their audit done in past years would make a big dent. So far zero states have paid back the federal government after being told to do so.
